The goals of pdxlabs.com
PdxLabs.com has six main goals:
1. Educate users and the public about nicotine addiction, e-smoking and health issues.
2. Promote self regulation by the e-smoking community through voluntary independent lab testing of consumables.
3. Promote independent studies on the health effects of e-smoking.
4. Stand up for addicts' rights and update the community on pending legislation affecting tobacco and/or nicotine use.
5. Advocate for better methods and support for those who wish to quit using nicotine.
6. Reduce harm amongst people who choose to use nicotine or have difficulty stopping.
I am launching this site to take on the issues of nicotine use, addiction, health, the law and the rights of people who find themselves users of nicotine either by choice or the by power of addiction. My goal is to present fair and accurate information about these issues, promote intelligent and reasonable discussion, and to create grassroots action in favor of harm reduction and addicts' rights.
I am a nicotine addict of 20 some odd years and I have tried many times to quit smoking tobacco. I recently started using the so called "e-cigarette" and found it to be a satisfying substitute for the old fashioned analog variety. I am excited by this new technology and while I would like to see more studies done on the health effects of this new nicotine delivery method, I do not want to see the government turn it into just another way of controlling and taxing addicts, or worse outlawing e-cigs altogether. One of my dreams is to see the e-smoking or "vaping" community, both vendors and consumers, come together to find a way to study these amazing new devices both as an alternative to smoking and a possible aid to kicking the habit.
Nicotine as of right now is a legal drug in the USA and in most of the world. As such I expect the site to contain products reviews, methods of extraction and usage of nicotine, stories from users, interviews with doctors, scientists, vendors and whoever else wants to talk about the drug that binds us all-
